The quiet moments,kept forever.

I'm Elena Marsh. I photograph weddings the way they actually happen: the held hands during the vows, the shaking speech, the cousins dancing badly at midnight. Nothing staged, nothing you have to perform.

The person behind the camera

I'd rather be invisiblethan in charge.

Nine years ago I photographed a friend's wedding as a favour, with one borrowed lens and far too much confidence. I have not stopped since. Amberlight is just me, plus a second photographer I have worked alongside for six years, and around twenty weddings a year so that every one of them gets my full attention.

I work quietly. I am not the photographer who claps for attention or halts the day for a shot list. I would rather stand at the back of the room and wait for the thing that actually happens: your dad going quiet, your friends piling in for a hug, the moment you both stop noticing me entirely.

Somerset born, Bristol based, happiest at the coast. If your wedding involves a long drive, a small boat, or a hill at sunrise, we are going to get along.

The best frame of the day is almost never the one anybody planned.

Selected work

A few days I have notstopped thinking about.

Twelve frames from the last two seasons, in barns and back gardens, city registry offices and Italian courtyards. Choose a category, or open any photograph to see it properly.

Full galleries stay private to the couples in them. If you want to see two complete weddings, start to finish, just ask and I will send them over.

How it works

Four steps, andalmost no admin.

You are planning a wedding, not a photoshoot. From the first email to the finished gallery, here is everything that happens and everything I will ask of you.

  1. Say hello

Tell me your date, your venue, and a little about the two of you. I answer every enquiry within two days, usually the same evening.

  2. Coffee, or a video call

We talk properly before anything is signed. I want to know how you met and how you want the day to feel, not just the running order.

  3. The day itself

I arrive early, stay quiet, and follow the day as it happens. No stiff posing and no list of forty group shots, unless that is what you want.

  4. Your gallery

A preview lands within 48 hours. The full edit arrives in four to six weeks in a private gallery you can share and download from forever.

Kind words

From the people whowere actually there.

We barely noticed Elena was there, and then the gallery arrived and she had somehow caught every single thing we were too busy to see. My grandmother laughing during the vows. My brother crying in the back row. All of it.

Priya & Tom

Hestercombe Gardens · June 2025

I am hopeless in front of a camera and I told her so in the first ten minutes. She just kept talking to us and let us get on with it. The photos look like us, which is genuinely the only thing I wanted.

Marcus & Dan

Trevenna Barns, Cornwall · September 2024

Rain from ten in the morning until the speeches. Elena never once looked worried, moved everything indoors with our coordinator, and got the most beautiful photograph of us under an umbrella in the doorway. It is on our wall now.

Good questions

The things couplesalways ask first.

Something not covered here? Email me directly at hello@amberlight.studio and I will answer properly, not with a brochure.

Anywhere. I am based in Bristol and photograph across the South West most weekends, but roughly a third of my year is spent elsewhere: the Highlands, Puglia, Kerry, upstate New York. UK travel is included in every package, and I will quote anything further honestly, at cost.
